About this expansion

Flames out of the dark: Obsidian Flames (OBF) was released on 11 August 2023 and is commonly known simply as the Charizard set – Charizard ex appears here as a Tera Pokémon of the Darkness type. That is the set's defining innovation: Tera ex cards whose type differs from the base form. 197 cards make up the main set, 33 secret rares bring the total to 230. Charizard ex in its special versions is the clear chase card, followed by illustration rares such as Ninetales and Cleffa.
