Johto enters the game: Neo Genesis (N1) was released internationally in December 2000 and in German in May 2001, opening the Neo cycle and bringing the second-generation Pokémon into the trading card game. The list contains 111 cards. Lugia is the most sought-after by a clear margin, followed by the Johto starters Typhlosion and Meganium.
