About this expansion
The start of the Paldea era: Scarlet ex (SV1S) released in Japan on 20 January 2023 and, together with its same-day twin set Violet ex (SV1V), opened the ninth game generation in the trading card game. It brought Pokémon ex back and introduced Terastallization to the card game. At its centre stands Koraidon ex, the legendary Pokémon of Pokémon Scarlet, flanked by Great Tusk ex and Gardevoir ex as well as the trainer cards Penny and Jacq. The main set spans 78 cards, joined by 30 secret rares for a total of 108. Internationally, the cards from both sets arrived together in Scarlet & Violet.
