Collectibles Universe in Widen: Is It Worth a Visit?
I can answer that right away with a big yes. I was there with a good friend, and we are both coming back next time. The value for money is outstanding, the layout of the booths clearly well thought out, the atmosphere really pleasant and the food better than expected - although I can only vouch for the Burki Bowl here.

Getting there: car or train, both work

We traveled separately, one by car, one by train. Parking at the sports center was organized, staff directed the cars, and there seemed to be plenty of spaces. I still parked at the train station and walked the five to ten minutes, which feels more relaxed on a convention day than hunting for the last gap right in front of the hall. If you come by public transport, you have the same short walk.
Entry: no line
We arrived at 11:30 a.m. with the regular ticket that is valid from 11 a.m. The line, if you can even call it that, was short, less than a minute, and the ticket check was friendly and quick. Early birds got in at 9 a.m. for a small surcharge of two francs.
The hall: booths below, grandstand above

The convention took place in the triple gym of the Burkertsmatt sports center in Widen. The layout of the exhibitor area stood out to me in a good way: the exhibitor tables are down on the hall floor, the larger booths along the edge of the hall, the smaller ones in the middle section, plus a small trading zone. The center was deliberately left empty, so there was always open space whenever you needed to catch your breath. Up on the grandstand there was room to sit, with extra benches and tables. It never got crowded up there, not even around noon.
Atmosphere
Relaxed, friendly, a good mix: families with kids, teenagers and collectors mostly in their 20s and 30s. Nobody pushed, nobody had to. Accidental bumps were immediately excused by both sides. Pleasant throughout, from the entrance to the haggling to the food line.
Selection: Pokémon and One Piece up front, sports cards with breathing room

Pokémon and One Piece made up the largest share of the booths, as at practically every card show right now. Sports cards were there too, but noticeably fewer people stood in front of those tables. A few booths with manga and pop culture rounded things out, and TAG Grading was on site with its own booth.
Food: the bowl

Hot dogs, corn dogs, fries with chicken nuggets, bowls, plus the usual drinks, ice cream and cake. I had the bowl with ground beef, fried egg, jasmine rice and vegetables, and it was really good. Not "good for a gym", but good – major props at this point.
Food prices were fair. We lined up at prime time, 12:15 p.m., and had to wait around 20 minutes. Once we ordered, the food came out super fast.
What to bring

The trading zone is small but nice and well attended, and cards change hands at the booths too – so be sure to pack the cards you could part with without heartbreak. Bring sleeves and toploaders as well, especially if you plan to rip a few packs – shortly after noon I couldn't find a single toploader on site for my freshly pulled Futuristic Rare Mew.
Next time
I'll definitely be back, next time equipped with an early bird ticket and toploaders. Many thanks to the organizing team for the strong organization, you have put together something really solid!
